Hi,
My husband is being recruited for a position in Qatar and we will be visiting next week to see schools, potential residential compounds etc.
I'd like to try and get a real flavour for daily life here, and would like some advice on things to do/see while we are there. Please note, I am not looking for site-seeing tips, as we can do that when we move, it's more the hum drum of daily life, I wanna try and get a feel for, as the Middle East is a complete unknown.
Things I was thinking of we're:
- visiting a supermarket to get an idea of which 'familiar' foods available, so any suggestions for which one to visit? (I know, boring - she wants to visit a supermarket - but he ho, I've got a family to feed and I would like to have an idea of what's in store for me!)
- having primary school kids, we'll probably also check out a local park
- a shopping mall, I guess, to see what kinds of shops there are
I can't think of what else, so any tips would be appreciated.
For info, we are staying at The Intercontinental.
Thanks.
