Moving to Russia - Need advice

My wife (Russian/US Citizen) and I are moving to Moscow but are having some difficulties with the correct information about getting a work visa. I have minimal knowledge of the Russian language (am studying though) but do have a 3 year private visa already.

What would be the best option for getting a work permit? Pros/Cons?
