Hello,
My husband would love to work for a company such as ARAMCO, any other solid US / Saudi or Foreign firm in Saudi Arabia.
Besides visiting the firms' websites and sending resumes here and there, we don't really know what could increase our chances in being hired. I assume that hundreds of resumes are sent every day to the HR departments.
Here comes my question:
Was the majority of the aramcons ( or others working for large firms)hired through their companies in the US?
Did you go through a recruiting agency in order to increase your chances? Does anyone know the names of serious agencies?
On the one hand I read all over that Americans are encouraged to come and work in Saudi and are well paid and have a lot more amenities than in other neighboring countries but on the other hand ,the competition seems to be veeeeeeeeeeeeery high.
My husband is in the IT field. He has 8 years of solid experience under his belt. He is a database manager as well as a programmer and an analyst. He is very comfortable with SQL Server, ASP, XML, Access, C ++ and C sharp. He is very happy at his current job but we are looking for a better financial security. We have both lived and studied in several countries so we find it exciting to discover another country. I have met several expats during my childhood in North Africa. Of course nothing is easy in life but I think that the expats' life is a pretty darn good onethough.
It's an adventure and we are so ready to jump in...
My hubby is 36 and I am 30. We have a 4 year old boy.
Any insight would be more then appreciated.
Best,
Leilouta
