Where to live when working in Rabigh

Hi I've just moved to work as an engineer in Saudi Aramco, Rabigh. I stayed in a terrible "hotel" for 2 nights and ran toJeddah. I don't start work for another few days.
I'm supposed to get accommodation on the Aramco compound but it's not ready yet. I was thinking of commuting from KAEC or Jeddah. Is this feasible short term, 1-3 months?
Could I rent an apartment short term?
Any advice would be welcome!
