VISA Question; Can my ex-wife and children get a visa to visit KSA

Dear All,

I am thinking of taking a job in the KSA. I'm going through the application process now.

I'm divorced and after a few years of the usually silliness, my relationship with my ex-wife has calmed and we are on good terms. We have two children.

If I take the job in KSA I would love my children to come out and visit me particularly through the Xmas and Easter school holidays. I'm told it gets too hot in the Summer. They are too young to travel alone (10 and 12 years old) so their mother, my ex-wife would need to travel with them, especially if I offer to pay for their airfare.

My questions is (and this may be a silly question), can my ex-wife and children apply for some sort of visa to come see me and experience the life in KSA? Do I need to sponsor them? Obviously the children are related to me, but my ex-wife is now not related to me. Does that even matter?

I understand that KSA doesn't do tourist visas although there is plans for that in Q1 2018.

I'm just starting out on my ex-pat adventure, any advice much appreciated.

M
