Want to retire to Scotland

I am a retired ex US Military US natural born citizen with a strong UK ancestry, I receive veterans benefits from the US well in excess of the income requirements and want to move to Scotland, I don’t know where in Scotland I want to move to but somewhere with fishing and hunting? And near the country, I am 52 as of this posting, and my income would be equivalent to 32,000 to 40,000 pounds sterling per year now, and is permanent income from veterans benefits.

My question is how hard will it be to move there and would my income be enough to live pretty well with myself and my wife and adult daughter? We would sell our home that would probably give us an additional 25,000 to 50,000 pounds cash on top of the yearly income, we don’t know how soon we would be wanting to move but it depends on the economy and how soon we would sell our home and other factors
