Small Town Living

My wife and I are retired and living full-time in Mexico. While it is gorgeous high-altitude living we are seeking to escape 6 of the warmer months to costal Scotland. We have poked around Scotland a bit and have found Largs to be a great location for our tastes. We are considering renting and/or buying a bungalow. I assume that renting would be easier. When we bought our house here in MX we paid cash for it as it was by far easier. Property loans in this country charge 12% interest which was not going to happen. We'd be very interested in hearing about buying vs renting in Scotland. We would prefer to own so anyone who has purchased we'd really like to hear from as well. Other things are medical insurance, owning a car, visa options, etc. Thank you in advance.
