Hi all - I'm a 42 year old female (no partner or kids) from the south of England who has always had a dream to move to Scotland (my grandfather was Scottish) and in late 2022/early 2023 I'm finally going to make the dream a reality. I'd love to hear any thoughts or suggestions on where to move to - so much choice! I have actually only been to one part of Scotland so far which is the South West / Dumfries and Galloway coast area, where I've been about 8 times (I fell in love with it). I was originally planning to move there for obvious reasons, but have started wondering if it might be too isolated for me. Work won't be an issue - I'll be working remotely for my London company, although my goal within a year or so will be to drop to part time and spend the other days working in the community. While in terms of the house I absolutely want to be in the countryside with a decent sized amount of land around me, I do also want to be part of a community and have access to facilities - tennis clubs, social opportunities etc. I would even be happy to be in a touristy area. I wondered perhaps about the Ben Lomond area? If anyone has any suggestions of areas for me to consider (I have a year or so to plan some trips!) I'd really appreciate it. Wildlife and countryside are super important to me, I am a very keen gardener and I tend to prefer lochs / mountains and open skies. Thanks all x
