Immigration to Scotland

Has anyone else immigrated from Canada to Scotland on a fiancé visa or marriage visa?
I’m wondering if you have any advice on whether I should get an immigration lawyer from Scotland or is it fairly straightforward to go through the process without a lawyer? If not, can anyone recommend a lawyer to work with? What timeline should I expect for this all to go through from start to finish? I.e. how long until I could be living in Scotland with my fiancé?
