Moving

I am planning a move & doing it alone. Everything I see talks about cost per couple. I'm retired but I'm not a couple. Will this be hard to meet people? I'm very independent and generally went alone to Europe in order to explore. My husband went with me if golf was involved! With thoughts on this move I keep mulling in my head that I want to sell everything (home, furnishings, auto, etc...) and start over. Is this a bad idea?
