61 and looking to move to Scotland and work there

I am researching how I can either work remotely, from the U.S., in Scotland or how to secure a job in Scotland with a work visa/sponsorship (I am an executive assistant). I want to move there but I do need/want to keep working. I love and have been to the Edinburgh area, many times, or open to working/living in suburbs around Edinburgh. I have cousins that still live in the area. My grandfather immigrated to the U.S. in 1921. Have been researching applying for passport via descent. Receiving conflicting information. Any tips or advice is appreciated. TIA!
