From SA to UK

Currently looking at moving to the UK (Oxfordshire) with my Husband and my two children (7&9). I was born in the UK and have citizenship there and still have family there. My children were born in SA and my husband is an SA citizen. I am in the process of obtaining EC passports for my children if I can. Apart from looking at the obvious ie: jobs, housing, schooling and all that, does anyone have any tips on little things I should be looking at that are, more often than not, overlooked?
