Could anyone help me with possibly retaining my South African Citizenship?
I was born in SA in 1973 to both parents being British.
We left for UK in December 1988.
I have visited SA 3 times on my British passport in 1995, 2011 and again 2017/18. I would like to visit a 4th time in December 2023/January 2024.
After my last visit I learned that, if I am a SA citizen, I could have been fined/imprisoned for not entering/leaving on an SA passport. I have read that others who are citizens have slipped though too.
Over the years, laws have been pasted, taking away more and more right it Citizenship and permanent residency, leaving me not knowing where I stand.
My preference would be to retain my Citizenship and apply for my first SA Passport, as a dual national.
If possible, what would be the quickest and easiest way to get this done first time, in time for December or asap there after?
Otherwise a confirmation on non-Citerzenship, so I can go ahead and continue on my UK passport, without concerns at border control.
Thanks
