Sky are catching up with free digiboxes being used abroad

This may be of interest to all people who have a free UK Sky digibox outside the UK.

Sky are issuing new viewing cards to 7 million Sky subscribers. The new cards will only work when activated via the UK landline connected to the digibox it is registered to. On receipt of the card the customer has 14 days to register the card in their digibox via the UK landline. Your current credit card subscription will continue to be taken according the the terms and conditions of the original contract you signed.
