American children in Barcelon public schools

My son (age 10) and I, are moving to Barcelon next summer. I cannot afford the expensive American/British private schools. Do the public schools allow foreign children to attend?? If not, does anyone know of an inexpensive alternative. I am not too fond of private schools, and would like my son to be part of the culture as well. Thanks for the help !!!!!!!!!!!!!
