Taxes in Spain

I realize this is not an entirely new topic. I have rather specific questions that I have not found discussed in this forum. Here goes:
I understand that as long as we do not stay in Spain for more than 183 days, we are not "Tax Residents". Is that correct?
If were become tax residents, will Spain tax personal assets such as the balance of our IRA?
Will Spain tax the value of any property we own in the US?
If we sell our US home, will they tax the gain?
If the home is sold in the fiscal year prior to the year we move to Spain, will they still tax the gain?
Is there any document (I searched without success) you can point me to that I can read through?
Thank you for any help you may offer.
Bruce
