What is the best way to rent an apartment in Spain from abroad?

Hi all,

My partner and I are moving to Barcelona in December this year and we would to like to find a rental apartment while still abroad so we can move in straight away when we arrive.

I am just wondering if there is any agencies you would recommend? Or just provide an overview of the process?

I am aware of websites such as Idealista, Fotocasa, Spotahome, etc where you can rent apartments. However, I am also aware of the high pricing/potential scam advertisements on these websites.

Would you know of any alternatives?
