This is my very first post here. I am from UK, and I recently went on a holiday this year (2017) to Sri Lanka. A friend I met there introduced me to a Sri Lankan woman, aged 29. I am 36. We both liked each other and keen to progress with things. Unfortunately I met her two days prior to meeting the country. The friend encouraged me to buy her a ring as a way of showing her I am keen on her, which I did. What does this actually mean in the Sri Lankan culture?? My intention is to invite her to the UK for 3 weeks to get to know her and If things progresses well then marriage maybe the next step. Apparently she doesn't have a passport and I may have to support her in applying for one. Anyone has any idea on the cost involved for a new passport for her? Lastly on average how much is a typical wedding in Sri Lanka??
