Family Struggles with Trying to Repatriate from Switzerland to U.S.

We lived in Geneva, Switzerland for the 4 last years for my husbands job. My childen attended the International school and I was employed there also. It was a wonderful experience to be on the same school campus (and have over an hour lunch time to visit each other.) We were relocated to the states this summer. It has been difficult for our children(age 16 and 13) to adjust to U.S. school and in making new friends. They claim they can't meet many people during the day since lunch is 20 minutes. Our children seem more mature and have different interests. Our childen are more informed and interested in world evenets etc. Our family has learned to value the time being together and the children here tease our children for wanting to be with their parents. I did not anticipate how our kids have changes vs. their peers. Does anyone have similar experiences in returning to the U.S. with teenageers? Do you have any suggestions?
