House vs Flat

Hello everyone :-)

My husband and I will be moving to Zurich on October this year.
I will move first to find a flat or house.
The company will pay me the first month in an apartment , and then I can search in the man while.
My question is the following, we have a dog a Beauceron, that is teh size of a middle Lab.
What will you recommend, that we search for a House, or for a flat ?
I am not sure how strict are the Swiss citizens regarding a dog that barks very few, but surely will do sometimes ;-)
I appreciate your help VERY MUCH
