Hi! Let's make a FAQ!

Well, I'm pondering taking the plunge into CH. We're a family
of 4 (me, wife and two children under 6).

My question: what is the cost of living? I know this question must be the must posted but I can´t find THE answer.

I know a house will be around 1500-2000 CHF (Type 4.5/5.5)
if I stay away from city centres

But what about food and mandatory services?

health care? I read somewhere around here
that 4 people pay ~750CHF a month

I suggest making a mini FAQ

I volunteer to receive all information you have, take all I've gathered by my self and compile it and post it here in
an easy and useful structure.

House price, Average food expenses, milk, bread, meat, vegetables..., insurance (auto/house), taxes, transportation,typical earnings for a given profession, typical benefits, please give NUMBERS!
