Moving to Lucerne this July from US

Looking for some advice on our upcoming move. Spouse will be working in Lucerne, kids will be attending International School of Zug and Lucerne and our stay will be for 2 to 3 years. Any advice on where to live, if we should ship our furniture or buy new, same with our car and are there any expat forums where expats look for rentals. Any information would be greatly appreciated!
