Extended visit to Thailand

My husband and I are considering staying in Thailand for three months next year (June through August) with our two elementary aged children. I would love any advice on places to stay for this length of time. We are thinking that we may not want to stay in Bankok but are not sure about that. We will be doing business by starting an importing company. Also, do the international schools run at this time of the year? If anyone has any recommendations, they are greatly appreciated.
