When my wife and I visited Vietnam several years ago we truly enjoyed taking inexpensive bus tours throughout the country and staying at local hotels and eating in local restaurants.
We are now considering moving to Thailand (we have been there many times) and will probably visit for several months so we can visit various areas and see more of the country than we did in the past.
My question is to understand if similar tours to what I described in Vietnam are available in Thailand. It seems all I can find on the internet are "up class" tour trips which does not give us the flexibility or the ability to see a truly local flavor of the country and the people.
Please advise if you know of any services like this and what cities they are available in....ie Bangkok, Chiang Mai, etc.
