I recently retired at the end of September 2015.
My wife (Singapore Citizen) and I are looking to sell our home in the mid-west USA and relocate in the next year to Thailand having been there many times over the last 30 years.
I have read up on retirement visas and clearly remain confused as to the financial requirements to qualify both myself and my wife.
Can anybody clarify the following:
1) Do my wife and I require two different types of visas since I am American and she is Singaporean.
2) Do we need to qualify financially separately for income and bank account balances?
3) Is there an income and bank balance requirement that jointly covers us both? If so, do you know how much these amounts are?
Most likely we will be looking at the Chiang Mai area.
Any thoughts that you can contribute to this clarification are greatly appreciated.
