Moving to Netherlands with a car

Dear friends,

glad to meet you online. I'm about to move to the Netherlands and I have a question regarding taking my car with me. I'm lost with all the taxation rules and exceptions so if someone can help me with any advice I would greatly appreciate it.

In short I want to take my car in Holland when I move there for work, I'll register in the municipality and hopefully will benefit from the 30% ruling. So far so good, but I don't want to change its license plates. The car is coming from another EU country, I own it for more than 6 months, but still don't want to change the plates, because if I decide to go home in two years, I'll have to go through the same process again. I'm reading that it is not possible to keep my home plates, but is this true, or there is a way you can keep them.

Another question I have is what will happen if I transfer the ownership of my car to someone else (my mother), she authorizes me to drive it by a notary verified document and I take it with me in the Netherlands. What are the potential consequences for me there if I do that. I assume that there is no force in the world that can make my mother who is not a resident of Holland, to change the plates of her car with Dutch ones.
