Residency & long-term visa requirements

Merhaba!
I am a US citizen and am researching relocation to Turkey for long-term/permanent residency.
Haven't found any info on the Turkey page of Expat Exchange about how to obtain Permanant Residency or Long-term visa for retirement in Turkey.
I lived in the country for a few years 3 decades ago and would like to relocate there for my retirement years.
Any tips or comments are appreciated
