Perspective.
Once there were two men arguing heatedly over an orange. They both wanted the orange and were ready to resort to fisticuffs to get what they wanted. Then, a wiser man intervened and asked each man, “Why do you want the orange?” The first answered, “I want some fresh orange juice.” The second said, “I want to bake a cake”. The wise man peeled the orange and gave the pulp to the juice-lover and the peel to the cake baker. Both, in the end, got what they wanted without acrimony, violence or residual animosity.
All of us on this forum look at the 'facts' about the economic future of Ukraine and form conclusions. We filter the information in accordance to our reasons for being here. My reasons for living in Ukraine are much different than most of the rest of you. I see the reasons why the weak economy will continue because that is to my advantage. Those of you with investments in land and business see the 'facts' as pointing to an economic recovery because that is what you hope for. I agree that spirited debate is more interesting than watching re-runs on TV, but in the end, we are still going to see things differently and nothing that any of us can do individually is going to affect the future of Ukraine. We are all just spectators in this drama.
