Medical Insurance Question

For you guys that have lived in Ukraine for years fulltime now. When you retired from your old jobs, did you keep your Medical Insurance active in the USA, or just not pay the Medical Insurance Premium, and keep the cash in your retirement check? Then pay for Medical treatment in cash in Ukraine. This is a decision I must make the last day of my employment. I just cant see paying $430 each month for BlueCross/Blueshield if I don't live in the USA. Just wondering your decision on this matter! Thanks for any feedback.
