Moving to Dubai...young family

Hi everyone,

I know I risk asking questions that have been asked a thousand times before but I'm new to this forum so here goes...

I'm an Australian mother of a beautiful 8 week old baby. My husband has been offered a position with a construction company in Dubai and we are very excited about the possibility of moving there. Obviously, with a young child to consider we need to find out as much information as we can before committing to this move.

Here are a few questions...
1. How difficult is it to find an apartment/villa to live in? (3Br would be our preference)
2. Which are the best areas of the city to live in? (ie safe, convenient etc)
3. Would it be possible for me to seek work, part-time, in Dubai? (I'm a high school teacher with 15 years experience.
4. What is the education system like? (US based? UK Based? ??) How hard is it to get children into 'good' schools?

I'm sure I'll think of many more questions...
