Photographer Trailing-spouse - Abu Dhabi

I am very excited about my husband's new job in Abu Dhabi and I can't WAIT to get there. He is scheduled to be there the first week of January and our original plan was for me to stay behind until May. However, circumstances have changed and I find myself desperate not to be left behind.

The problem: His company provides housing for him but not for me :( and everything I see on line is very expensive (not that I didn't expect it to be)

Question: Is it common for people to rent out extra rooms? If so, what is the best way to find a situation like that? Any one here have an extra room to rent out? My goal is to be over there by the end of January '09.
