UK Car Insurance for US folks in UK

Hello,

I currently hold a Geico Direct car Insurance in New York. They have an overseas contact email and phone # but do not have a website. They have offered a $960.00 per year UK coverage for my car. They will also insure my household goods - primarily my reading books (not collectors stuff) for 1.35%, while in UK and cover air and sea shipment insurance at 2.25% and 1.25%. They say the insurance will include the cost of insurance during shipping and that I could continue with them when i return.

Marlog will provide Marine insurance at the rate of 1.5% for the car's declared value and 2.5% for the declared value of the household goods and advised me to look into UK car insurance in Scotland.

I would like to hear from you about what you think and if you have any experience to share or suggestions for me.
