living out my dream

Hello, I have just graduated from high scool in California and I've always had a dream of moving to London and starting a new life. I have never been the happiest person, but when I was there a few months ago, I felt like I belonged, which is a feeling I don't get even at home. I have just decided that I'm going to live out my dream and move there. But I haven't the least idea on where to start. I will be 18 in a few months and I haven't yet told my parents. Can anyone please give me any sort of advice?
