London UK - education resources

Hi, I am considering relocating to London in the spring with my exisitng company. I have 2 childern and one will be of school age. Are there any good resources on both state and public shools in the London area? Especially concerned about cost and elegibility (PS I have a dual US/Italian citizenship, currently living in the US).
