Foreign Debt

One thing I haven't seen address is this forum is the question of foreign debt.

I've been in the UK for 3 years and plan to move back to the US. I currently have credit card debt and a bank loan though and know that US cards won't authorize balance transfers from UK cards.

Does anyone have any advice as to how to handle this?
