Question about giving birth in the UK

Hello, I am a Canadian who will be moving to Wales to take up a teaching post and I have a question that I hope may be answered.
My wife is in the very early stages of pregnancy and I wanted to know if she is able to give birth in he UK? What are the steps to make this easier? Insurance? Costs?
