Cost of Living US vs UK

I currently live in the San Francisco Bay Area, in CA.

I have been offered a job in the UK by my company, and I am trying to understand the cost of living there.

Our company will be based in Reading.

They have offered me so far a 20% bump in salary (imagine $120K vs $100K). Is that fair? Given my European Union origines, I will be considered a local resident when I get there.

Any help would be appreciated.
