I am a UK citizen currently in the US on a resident visa living with my husband and two children. We are looking into the possiblility of moving back to the UK but am having a difficult time getting any straight answers from http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk
We don't want to move until my husband has a job offer, but don't know what application to fill out.
Is the settlement form VAF2 OCT2006 appropriate for our arrangement, and if so, does it's approval allow him to work in the UK as well as live in the UK or is there another form to fill out?
How long after approval do we have to move? We don't want to spend our entire savings on living expenses while looking for a job.
Our two children were born in the US. Do they have to have visas as well?
Basically, our plan is for my husband to have the permission to live and work in the UK, and then find employment prior to moving. Unfortunately, http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk is not very clear.
I would appreciate any advise that you could give.
