Tax Question - US/UK

I'm am only in the planning stages of investigating a UK position with my company. I find this forum has been very helpful in preparing me for the things I need to think about in order to prepare if a move happens.

I have a question about income tax. If I'm paid as an expat in US dollars in the UK, will the US deduct income taxes from my check or will I only be responsible for filing a tax return every year?
