I am a British citizen who has been living in in Boston, MA for the last 6 years. My husband (a US citizen) has been given the opportunity to take a job in his company's UK office.
Since this kind of move (semi-voluntary and on a permanent basis) is not common in his company, instead of an ex-pat package they have asked us to move ourselves and give them an estimate of costs which they will then give us up front as a one time bonus.
I have a pretty good idea of most of what we want to ask for, however, I'm looking for recommendations on shipping companies to contact for estimates.
We are also trying to figure out what a reasonable amount would be to set aside for our cat being moved - everything from vets bills for the microchipping to the cost of her transportation etc. Could anyone give me a ballpark figure of how much it cost them to move their pet?
My apologies if there are already threads pertaining to my questions - I took a quick look but couldn't see exactly what I was looking for. Feel free to refer me to another thread if you think it would help.
