Take-home pay

I'm moving from NY to London and want to know the % of the take-home pay (net salary) for a GBP $125,000 gross salary.

In this website
http://www.thesalarycalculator.co.uk/ i get approx GBP $79,400 (64%) however in this forum i've seen people indicating approx 50% of the gross salary is the take-home pay.

Is there something i am missing?
