Possible move to the UK

My husband may be transferred to the UK. I am a little nervous about this as I am a senior level IT professional. I cannot afford (from a career perspective) to take off for the next two years or so while he works in the UK. How difficult is it for an accompanying spouse to find work? We are US citizens and it it looks as if I would qualify for a tier one visa. I am used to travelling within the US for work, so I am not tied to a specific city (but would prefer to stay in the UK for work.) Anyone else out there moved over and took a professional working spouse with them? How did it work out? Any advice?
