Good living areas for family

Hi all, I am a full time mom and will relocate to London with my husband and a 1.5 yr old girl later this year.

My husband will work in Westminster (nearest tube station Green Park) and right now I would like to get an idea about some reccomended living areas for family. I aim for somewhere on the same line as Green Park's so that my husband does not have to change lines. Commuting time to work should be no more than 30 minutes. Any recommended areas that are safe and green for families in zone 2 or 3? I will pay a visit to London in early May and so I hope to look around possible options first.

Also any places that I should avoid?
