Salary conversion: from Boston to London/Cambridge

Hello -
My current salary in the US is $100K.
If I use today's conversion, that amount equals £68K (more or less)

However, when I see the listed salaries for similar positions in the UK, I see that the salary is around £45K.

Is that "normal"? (that is $100K vs £45K)
