My head is caving in! :) I work for a university with a campus in London. My boss asked me on Friday (after me saying on a couple occasions that I'd like to live overseas) if I would be willing to spend six months at our London campus. It's not a done deal... Think he's getting my opinion on whether I would consider it. I have to be careful NOT to appear to eager!
During that time, I am told I can live on campus in a "deluxe suite" dorm room. Not my idea of great times, but free housing would still work. My question...what kind of relocation package would be fair? I know the cost of living is more, etc.
Also, how does one handle banking, if paid in US dollars? I don't necessarily want to open a UK account if I don't have to, but what options are there for a short stay? I don't want to deal with a ton of fees.
In regards to taxes...i'm just confused.
What should I be asking for? I REALLY want to do something like this if it's an option, but I don't want it to be to my financial detriment.
any advice would be great...
many thanks!
