How to become a UK estate agent??

Hello All,
I am new to the forum. I'm wondering what you all can tell me about the job of Estate Agent in the UK. I am a Realtor in Nashville, TN with six years experience, but I'm contemplating a move overseas. My husband is a musician (singer/guitarist). I also have a college degree. What job opportunities might be right for a couple with our skill-set? Is there any possible way that being and American could help me in the British real estate business?
