salary calculator?

Hello,
I am looking to relocate to the UK. Therefore, this will not be a transfer from one company to the next.

I currently make $105K with my present company in the US.
I have been interviewed fro a job in Liverpool where the salary is 55K GBP.

Now, there was a time that this almost equaled $110K, but that time is gone. It's difficult to determine the equivalent salary because the USD has fallen so much, BUT what I can buy on my salary may be more than in the UK.
However, I need to know if the GBP salary is within the market value of my position in the UK.
I'm in the technical side of Pharma.
Does anyone have any insight into this? Or possibly links where I can research?
