EU Nationals in the UK

Are there any EU Nationals on this network that recently moved to the UK and can share their experiences in regards to securing housing and employment? What routes were taken and how long was the process? I plan to relocate to Manchester later this spring and my immediate objective upon my arrival is to flatshare and pursue temp work prior to a full-time position within my field/sector.
