Is this a reasonable housing estimate?

We are FINALLY finishing up contract negotiations with my husband's company, and after looking online we THINK we will be able to get a 4 bedroom flat (or something) for 1600-2000 pounds per month. His office is moving to Ropemaker Place (near Moorgate Tube Station) and we are willing to be anywhere safe that is an hour or less commute for him. Is this a reasonable estimate?

I know 45 minutes for a commute covers a very large area and I see everyone telling people to narrow it down, which I will be doing in early February when we visit. If anyone has suggestions for a family oriented neighborhood I would really appreciate it. I feel like I am going to be stepping off the plane and having no idea where to start. ;)
