Moving to London with 15 yr old daughter - advice on schools

I am relocating to London, indefinately with my 15 year old daughter and need guidance/advice on UK secondary school system. I will be working in the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. Ideally, I would like to live nearby work but I am open as my primary goal is to find a good school fit for my daughter. She is currently attending an all girl's catholic school which she finds quite challenging. She has been in a variety of school situations, small intimate settings suit her best. I do not think we will be able to afford independent school and I would like to have her immersed in British culture since she will finish school in the UK. I am married to an EU citizen so she has the possibility of attending college in the US or the EU. Any suggestions on where I should begin? I am not adverse to having her start Year 10 with 14 year olds if that is allowed.
